Kajal Aggarwal was born on June 19, 1985 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She started her career as a model while still in college. She planned to pursue an MBA in Brand Management but later decided to pursue acting. In 2004, she made her Bollywood debut in the film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… She made her Telugu debut, playing her first leading role in the 2007 film Lakshmi Kalyanam.
The same year, she had her first commercial success in the film Chandamama and further rose to fame for her role in the 2009 film Magadheera. Her performance in this film was well-received that she got the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress.
