Monali Thakur is the famous playback singer and actress. She was born on 3 November 1985 in Kolkata. She is from a Bengali Family. She is the daughter of Shakti Thakur who is a Bengali Actor & Singer. Her sister Mehuli Thakur is also a singer. She has appeared as a child artist in a Bengali television daily, Aolokito Ek Indu, in which she played the character of Indu. She has done BA in English Honours from St. Xavier’s College at Kolkata. She got training in Hindustani classical music under Pandit Jagdish Prasad and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. She also a trained Salsa dancer. She made her acting debut in Raja Sen‘s Bengali film Krishnakanter Will. In this film, she played the role of Vromor. She made her Bollywood debut in Nagesh Kukunoor‘s Lakshmi in 2014.

Monali Thakur has become a known face in the singing fraternity. With her sweet voice and pretty face, she stole millions of hearts nationwide. Monali Thakur started her professional singing career when she auditioned for Sony TVs The Indian Idol 2 in 2005. She was widely appreciated by the judges Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan.’ Zara Zara Touch Me’ and ‘Khwab Dekhe’ (Sexy Lady) for the Bollywood thriller, ‘Race’ she got much popularity.
