Shreya Ghoshal is a leading Indian playback singer. Early in her career, she participated and won the television singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.  Apart from playback singing, she also recorded several studio albums. Her first studio album titled Bendhechhi Beena was released in 1998 comprising of 14 tracks. She made her debut in Bollywood playback singing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Devdas(2002) for which she won a National Film Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer and Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. She sang five songs in the film. She received her second National Film Award for the song “Dheere Jalna” from the film Paheli. She worked with leading composers of Bollywood and sang duets with many established singers. In addition to these songs, she lent her voice in numerous other films including U Me Aur Hum, Sirf, Ghatothkach, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, De Taali, Dashavatar, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Haal-e-Dil, and Kismat Konnection.

She also recorded songs in other languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. She won four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards including five for Best Female Playback Singer, nine Filmfare Awards South for Best Female Playback Singer – four for Malayalam, two for Kannada, two for Tamil and one for Telugu, three Kerala State Film Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
