Vasundhara Das was born on 27-10-1977 in Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka, India. She is an Indian Singer, Film Actress, Composer, Entrepreneur, Songwriter, Playback Singer & Musician.

Vasundhara Das Complete Bio & Career

Vasundhara Das was born and raised in Bangalore, Karnataka. She completed her schooling from Clunny Convent High School and Sri Vidya Mandir in Bangalore. She obatine her graduate degree from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore. Since childhood, she was interested in singing and acting. She got trained in Hindustani classical music from grandmother Indira Das and later trained under Pandit Parameshwar Hegde and Lalita Kaikini. During her college days, she was the lead singer of girl’s band Soprano which she formed along with some of her friends.

She made her acting debut through bi-lingual film Hey Ram in the year 1999. She was cast alongside Kamal Haasan and Rani Mukherjee in this film. Post that, she worked in several other Bollywood, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam films. She was cast alongside Ajith Kumar in the Tamil film Citizen. She worked alongside Mohanlal in Malayalam film Ravanaprabhu and alongside Darshan in the Kannada film Lankesh. Hence, she worked with veterans of respective film industry. Her acting career though was short lived and was last seen in Bollywood film Ek Dastak in the year 2007.

However her singing career was on a role for almost a decade. She won the best playback singer award for her debut song”Shakalaka Baby” from the Tamil film Mudhalvan in the year 2000. Some of her noted songs include “Sonare”, “Sarigame”, “Thathai Thathai”, “Neevu Kottina”, and “Chakori” among others. She is also a motivational speaker and has given talks at TED. She along with her husband runs a company called Drumjam which used music as a medium for corporate training.
