MMA fighter Amanda Ribas, from Brazil, was born on August 26, 1993. She now fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s strawweight class (UFC).
She is currently ranked #9 in the UFC women’s strawweight rankings as of August 15, 2022, and #15 in the women’s flyweight rankings as of November 21, 2022.
Not only one of the best female MMA fighter, Amanda is also considered as one of the hottest female MMA fighter.
Where does Amanda come from?
The native of Varginha is the daughter of Muay Thai instructor and judo and jiu-jitsu coach Marcelo Ribas. She received instruction from her father until she was a member of one of Brazil’s young national judo teams.
After sustaining knee problems, she took a few years off from training and competing. After witnessing several of her coworkers practising for an MMA competition, she recommenced her training and competition schedule.
How is the UFC career of Amanda going on?
At The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale on July 7, 2017, Ribas was slated to compete against Juliana Lima.
Nevertheless, Ribas was disqualified from the fight when USADA raised a possible anti-doping violation. The sample taken on June 7 is what led to the potential violation. Tecia Torres came in to take her position.
She was initially given a two-year ban by USADA after testing positive for ostarine, but on May 3, 2019, the ban was lifted when USADA realised the positive test was caused by a nutritional supplement tainted with ostarine.
Ribas was scheduled to compete against Carla Esparza at UFC 256 on December 12, 2020. On October 9, it was revealed that Esparza had been dropped for an unspecified cause.
Ribas was supposed to fight Michelle Waterson at UFC 257 on January 24, 2021, instead.
On December 8, 2020, it was revealed that Marina Rodriguez had taken Waterson’s position after she had been compelled to leave the event. In round two, Ribas was defeated via technical knockout.
On May 8, 2021, Ribas was supposed to fight Angela Hill at UFC on ESPN 24.
Yet on the day of the event, Ribas was disqualified from the fight because of COVID-19 guidelines, and the fight was abandoned. The match was moved to June 5’s UFC Fight Night 189.
On October 30, 2021, Ribas and Virna Jandiroba squared up at UFC 267. She received a unanimous decision victory.
Ribas was once again slated to take on Michelle Waterson at UFC Fight Night 205 on March 26, 2022.
However, owing to Waterson suffering an unexplained injury before she was officially declared out of the fight in mid-March, the fight was postponed to UFC 274 on May 7, 2022.
On May 14, 2022, Ribas competed against Katlyn Chookagian at UFC on ESPN 36. She was defeated in a split decision. Ribas won her first Fight of the Night bonus for the fight.

Yet shortly after the formal weigh-ins, the promotion made the announcement that Cortez had been removed from the fight due to an undisclosed medical problem, and the fight had been called off.
On March 4, 2023, Ribas will compete against Viviane Arajo at UFC 285.
